Concept Statements:
The Schwartz are wanting a kitchen that has a modern farmhouse style since that is the style implemented throughout the rest of their house. They are a close-knit family, and the children like to help their mother in the kitchen, which is the reasoning behind the incorporation of a large island to allow for more prep space and space for seating. The flooring will be a warm luxury vinyl tile to continue the flooring that already runs throughout the main floor. The walls will be painted a warm crème color to contrast and complement the flooring, as well as to make the space feel bigger. The color scheme of the kitchen are shades of white, crème, grey, brown, and black. The materials incorporated in the space are a warm luxury vinyl tile, a white and grey quartz countertop, stained birch wood, painted white wood, stainless steel, iron hardware, and a light grey subway tile backsplash.

The Schwartz are wanting to implement the modern farmhouse in their master bathroom since that is the style incorporated throughout the rest of their house. They wanted a lot of light, both natural and artificial to make the space appear larger than it truly is. To make up for excluding a linen closet, I added a ceiling height cabinet to store towels, sheets, and any other toiletry products that are unable to be stored in the cabinetry of the vanity. There is a double vanity because they both wanted their own space to get ready in the morning, as well as their own space for storing their things in the bathroom. The color that will be used throughout the space are shades of white, grey, blue, beige, and crème. The materials that will be used throughout the space are porcelain tiles, quartz countertop, painted white wood, porcelain, rippled glass, and iron hardware.
Kosher Kitchen
Kosher Guidelines in a Kitchen:
-
Most kitchens have a sink, fridge, and a stove installed in a specific pattern that allows for storage, prep, cooking, and cleaning.
-
In a kosher kitchen, you'll need two overlapping circulation triangles for meat and dairy.
-
This means double sinks and double ovens/stoves, and many prefer double dishwashers and fridges as well.
-
-
For countertops, you need a hard surface that is easy to maintain and durable.
-
The ideal material is quartz because it's an extremely hard surface that is non-porous and doesn't require sealing making it one of the best for preparing food.
-

Reflected Ceiling Plan (1/4" = 1'-0")
Electrical/Switch Plan (1/4" = 1'-0")
Separation of Meat & Dairy Elevations (1/2" = 1'-0")
Kitchen Layout Design:
-
The north wall is designated as the meat section, while the west wall is designated as the dairy section.
-
The island is included in the dairy section.
-
-
There are two sinks and two dishwashers: one located on the north wall and the other in the island.
-
This is to avoid any cross-contamination of meat and dairy products.
-
-
There is a double oven, so one may be used for preparing meals containing meat and the other for meals containing dairy.
-
The space for the fridge is large enough to house a French door fridge that allows for a lot of space to designate areas for dairy and meat products.
-
The butler's pantry acts as a space to store non-dairy and non-meat products (also known as "parve").
-
The same designation is given to the walk-in pantry, but that doesn't mean that there can't be deliberate separation to avoid cross contamination if more storage for non-refrigerated products is required.
-
Other Elevations (1/2" = 1'-0")
Master Bathroom
Master Bathroom Layout Design:
-
The Edison bulb sconces, wire cage pendant, slate grey floral porcelain tile, and circular mirrors with a oak wood frame are elements used to implement the modern farmhouse style.
-
The vanity includes two sinks with storage in the form of sets of drawers and sink unit cabinets.
-
The floor to ceiling height cabinet is a linen cabinet meant for storing linens, toiletries, and excess storage for the bedroom.
-
-
The toilet is enclosed in a water closet/ toilet room to allow for privacy of the residents.
Master Bathroom Layout Design:

The arched windows are a stylistic design choice that coincides with the modern farmhouse style.
-
The windows allow natural light into the space.

-
The purpose of the partial wall is to provide privacy for the free-standing tub.
